When a yacht is at anchor it is obvious that a continuous navigational watch shall be maintained. But also it is important to bear in mind that masters and crews should take measures to protect themselves and their yachts from pirates, armed robbers, terrorists or other threats.
An appropriate security plan must be in operation when the yacht is at anchor in case of emergency conditions and an alert anchorage watch is critical in areas where activity by pirates, terrorists or other criminals could be expected.
This course contains guidance and training for yacht’s crew about the preplanned actions and necessary equipment in order to ensure the security of the yacht when at anchorage.
